Realistic clients that train, progress and message a coach in character — so the business feels alive before its first sale.

The challenge

Online coaching sells on the relationship — but a coach just starting out has no clients to practise with or to show. You need clients to prove you can coach, and proof to win clients. And an empty app is impossible to demo.

What I built

A real in-app coach-to-client chat, with unread badges and email alerts on both sides
AI-driven demo clients, each a believable person with their own goals, character and consistency
Every week they train (or don't) true to character, filling real progress and body-measurement charts
They message the coach in character — reacting to how their week went and asking real questions
Hard safety barriers so the AI can never speak or act for a real member

How it works

The design separates the 'body' — deterministic code that generates each client's training data — from the 'soul', the AI that writes every message in that person's voice. The AI only ever reads a summary and returns text; it never touches the database, and it runs as a small scheduled job, so the app carries no AI keys and no ongoing bill.

Result: A coaching business that feels alive from day one — a genuine practice ground for the coach and a convincing live demo for prospects.
